The primary school curriculum and subject offerings at Aurora encourage deep and diverse learning experiences; work that is artistically rich, meaningfully integrated and academically rigorous. In addition to the cross-curricular Main Lesson blocks of study and generalist lessons studied with the students’ class teacher, the children also undertake weekly lessons with specialist subject teachers in the areas of foreign languages, music, hard and soft crafts, library and physical education, with additional subjects offered at times according to demand and available expertise. These lessons allow children opportunities to really hone and develop particular skills and technical ability with the guidance of an expert in the field.
Speciality or class teachers also offer their time and skills in providing selected extra curricular activities throughout the year such as music instrumental classes, orchestra and blacksmithing.
