Aurora students are joyful and thoughtful young people who learn to appreciate what makes themselves and others unique. Through shared experiences, meaningful relationships, and a strong sense of community, they grow in confidence, empathy, and responsibility.
Dress Code – A Point of Difference
Aurora does not have a traditional school uniform. Instead, we have a thoughtful dress code designed to balance freedom, individuality, and practicality. Students are encouraged to wear clothing that is comfortable, safe, and appropriate for learning and play (both indoors and outdoors) while respecting the shared values of the school community.
This approach reflects our belief that children should be free to express themselves through their clothing while learning the importance of personal responsibility and respect for others. By not having a uniform, we celebrate each child’s uniqueness and creativity, helping them develop confidence in who they are.
At the same time, the dress code ensures students are prepared for all learning experiences, from creative and practical activities to outdoor exploration. It’s a small but meaningful way Aurora supports children to grow as individuals within a caring community, encouraging self-expression, practicality, and mindfulness in everyday choices.

The safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. Aurora Southern Highlands School fully complies with the NSW Child Protection Legislation, the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998, and the NSW Child Safe Standards.
