Vision, Mission and Values

Vision

We seek to educate the whole child, head, heart, and hands, so that young people grow into free, capable, and responsible human beings. Through meaningful work and lived experience, they develop a strong sense of agency, learning to shape the world rather than stand apart from it. Guided by empathy, wisdom, and moral imagination, they learn to lead with care and act as change-makers within their communities. Students leave Aurora with practical skills for living and a growing understanding of their own path, knowing what comes next and how to meet it with confidence and courage.

They learn not to shy away from challenge, to take up the difficult work when it is needed, while holding fast to curiosity, wonder, and a spirit of adventure.

Living in balance with the natural and social world, they strive to leave it better for having lived within it.

Mission

At Aurora Southern Highlands School, we nurture the whole child, head, heart, and hands. Grounded in wonder, beauty, and meaningful real-world experiences, our curriculum invites children to think deeply, act with integrity, and engage joyfully with the world around them.

We are committed to cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning community where every individual is known, valued, and truly belongs. Through this approach, students develop deep connections to themselves, to others, to their community, and to the natural world.

Balancing academic rigour with genuine care, an Aurora education empowers children with the knowledge, confidence, and ethical grounding to meet the challenges of modern life with imagination, resilience, and purpose.
