Arts and Craft Specialist; Early Childhood Teacher

Jennifer’s initial teaching experience was as a Junior Primary/ Kindergarten Diploma trained teacher in country and urban SA for 4 years with complementary training in specialist teaching in Music through Movement (Dalcoze Eurythmics) and Children’s Art classes. Since 1972 she has been training and subsequently practicing as an artist with a focus on personal development, gaining a Grad Dip in Social Ecology as well as an Honours Degree in Visual Arts.

She is registered as a relief teacher with the NSW DEC and over the years she conducted a variety of arts projects in schools. As a Parent at Eukarima/ Bowral Rudolf Steiner School Jennifer offered such activities as silk painting workshops and costume making besides teaching craft for one year. She also briefly taught Ceramics at Moss Vale TAFE.

In recent years Jennifer has volunteered as secretary for the Vietnam Children’s Project which sponsors an Orphanage and three Steiner based Kindergartens in Vietnam and this renewed her interest in the philosophical basis for Steiner education. She is now working towards contributing in a rich and worthwhile way to our new and developing Steiner school based community.
