Aurora School is located in Bowral, NSW. We are a young, growing, K-6 school with composite classes: Pre-K/Kindergarten, Class 1/2, Class 3/4 and Class 5/6. We work successfully with a model where teachers remain on their stage rather than following a class all the way through the primary years.

Aurora staff work collaboratively and professionally with a strong focus on student learning and a love of young people. Music Teacher Part-time 2019

We are seeking a part-time 0.2 FTE music teacher starting January 2019. Aurora already has a strong music program with specialists in recorder and violin as well as the regular musical work that class teachers do every day with their classes. Singing is a fundamental part of our learning program K-6, recorder is played by all students Years 1-6. Our strings program starts in Year 3 with all students learning violin until the end of Year 4 and then deciding to either continue or choose another instrument for their ensemble work in Years 5 and 6. For this position, we are seeking an educator with strengths in instrumental ensemble work and experience in leading singing groups. The intention is for this position to start on part-time basis and grow as student numbers grow.

Class 7/8 Middle School Teacher 2020

In 2020 we are taking our first step in establishing a high school with a composite Class 7/8, aiming to progress to Year 12 in the years afterwards. This first step will bring about the establishment of Aurora Middle School (Years 5-8) staffed initially by the existing Class 5/6 home teacher and a new Class 7/8 home teacher. They will be assisted by specialist language, creative arts and technologies teachers.

We are looking for an innovative, skilled middle school teacher, ideally with the capacity to start part-time in January 2019 working with our Class 5/6 teacher to establish the middle school program for 2020. We are seeking an educator with strengths in teaching English and HSIE as well as the capacity to teach lessons across all KLAs. Essential is the willingness to work with initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm. The applicant will preferably have training and experience in Steiner education and a commitment to professional learning.
