Aurora School is located in Bowral, NSW. We are a young, growing, K-6 school with composite classes: Pre-K/Kindergarten, Class 1/2, Class 3/4 and Class 5/6. In 2020 we will expand into Middle School with a Class 7/8. We work successfully with a model where teachers remain on their stage rather than following a class all the way through the primary years.
Aurora staff work collaboratively and professionally with a strong focus on student learning and a love of young people. We are committed to developing healthy, purposeful education for today’s world and challenging students to continually improve. Our rich learning program includes specialist teachers in Eurythmy, Bothmer gymnastics, creative arts and foreign languages.
We pride ourselves on meeting the individual needs of children with a dedication to understanding child development.
At Aurora Kindergarten, we provide a nurturing, home-like and adventurous environment for 4 to 6 year-olds, with a strong connection to nature.
We are seeking a NESA accredited (or eligible) teacher who loves children, loves to learn and loves to work in an enthusiastic and collaborative team environment. We are still a young school and love innovation and input.
We seek a teacher who is creative, warm and understands the beauty and complexity of early years and 6 year-old challenges. We seek an educator who is able to actively support Aurora’s ethos and values; fostering a developmentally appropriate, balanced and open-minded approach to teaching and learning.
The successful applicant will have a deep understanding of early childhood Steiner pedagogy and philosophy along with a commitment to professionalism and self-development in their work.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a creative and committed College of Teachers.
We are about to open our second Kindergarten classroom, so you will work with another Kindergarten teacher.
Aurora is committed to the care, protection and learning of all children attending the school. Our school is a place where children are nurtured, supported and challenged so that they can develop their capacities to grow into well-rounded human beings.
